Andreas Schmitten is concerned with anthropomorphism and with material personifications. His new sculptures invite us to reflect on Duchamp's readymade from a 21st-century perspective. They enigmatically explore the relationships between sculptural and human forms, between the body, symbolic objects, and rituals.
